During lockdown, many charities have found it hard under the strain of the virus to continue when donations have been reduced. That’s why we wanted to help in any way we can by supporting a charity we have been working with for many years, Weston Hospicecare.
On the run up to Christmas the whole BWOC team got on board with a ‘Bake Off’ style fundraiser each taking turns to bring in a homecooked treat to help raise money for the charity.
Each week we had a new team of chefs who brought in a savoury or sweet treat for all of us in the office to enjoy. We had cakes, brownies and even hotdogs too!
Alongside the Baking fundraiser we also had other fun events to take part in including a ‘How many in the jar competition’ which was £1 per guess and one of our handy colleagues got involved by utilising her sewing machine to create face-masks which cleverly prevent any glasses from fogging up.
This event calendar allowed all of the BWOC team to get involved, raising money for the amazing Weston Hospicecare whilst having fun. It was a pleasure to donate this money and know that our small contribution will go towards the fantastic work they carry out on a daily basis.
