Manchester City Marathon

On Sunday 8th April 2018 Lauren Reason took part in the Manchester City Marathon. Lauren has worked for BWOC at our garage at Brent Knoll for nearly 3 years and when not working at the garage Lauren is kept busy working with her horses or helping on her parents farm.
A year ago in a conversation about goals and achievements someone told Lauren that they doubted she’d be able to run a marathon. That was it CHALLENGE ACCEPTED!! Lauren put in place a training plan with the goal of completing the Manchester City Marathon in April 2018. On Sunday 8th April along with a small but dedicated team of supporters including Laurens mother and Angela Ndow (manager of the Brent Knoll Garage), travelled to Manchester and took part and completed the 26 miles 385 yards in a very impressive time of 4hrs 1 minute 23 seconds!! Brent Knoll garage manage Angela Ndow said ‘We are all incredibly proud of Lauren for completing this challenge and for the work she has put in and are hoping her feet have recovered in time for her next shift at the garage!!’
In taking part in the Manchester City Marathon Lauren had decided to raise money for Cancer Research. Lauren had lost her Grandfather to the illness and is currently supporting a close family friend through chemotherapy so knows how vitally important every penny raised is towards the charity. Hosting a karaoke night, a quiz night, getting sponsorship and via her ‘Just Giving’ page Lauren has managed to raise just over £2,600 and hopes to reach her target of £3,000 very soon.
